I often think about this quote almost as much as I think about how every aspect of my life has changed over the last 10 years—my body, my job, my boyfriend, my home. Yet the one thing that has outlasted all of the above are my girlfriends. Sure, a few acquaintances have fallen by the wayside; I put that down to growth, but I’m not talking about them. I’m talking about the ones I call at 2am when I’m in trouble, the ones who have seen me from girlhood to womanhood, the ones who make my belly ache with laughter and dry my tears when they just won’t stop, the protectors of my secrets, the ones who defend me when I am unkind to myself, the ones who proofread my texts, police my outfits, and politely tell me where to get off.

As women, we are taught to compete with one another, but through these profound friendships, I have realized this is the exact opposite of what we should be doing. If we can share, learn, love, and grow with and through the women in our lives, we will undoubtedly become the very best version of ourselves.

For this reason, I decided to name each dress in my first collection after “the ones” in my life, my girlfriends, my soulmates, my outfit approvers—because let’s be honest, I wouldn’t walk out the door without their stamp of approval.

Odette, my very first friend who lends me her bravery when I don’t have any. Ciara, my forever best friend who meets me with honesty when I don’t know I need it. Alexia who has shown me loyalty and what it means to show up. Ashleigh who has held space for every version of me. Jessica, who has been my safe place and life raft in the brutalist storms. Georgia who has allowed me to dream and encouraged me to dream bigger. Caitlin who has been an anchor and constant in chaos. Alexandre who has put my broken pieces back together more times than I can count. Amber who has brought laughter to my life when I needed it the most.

Every piece of me is made up of a piece of them.

We often joke that I go to them for advice, and they come to me for dresses.

I wanted this brand to be luxurious but also widely accessible and to celebrate the joy of friendship and what it means to be a woman.
